The establishment of the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund occurred in October 2001. This scholarship fund is named in honor of Janice Marie Scott. Why was this scholarship fund established? To recognize her involvement with various youth programs and community service activities within the Greater Metropolitan Area of Washington, DC. Janice was one of 125 individuals that perished in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 when terrorists hijacked and crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon.
